Annie Mia - Doesn't have the same ring to it

Okay, I am not a huge fan of blogs, either reading or writing them. But I figured that some people might be interested in periodic updates of what Jack is up to. Time is flying, and he’s changing so fast. I’m sure someday in the not-too-distant future, I’ll be glad that I documented his latest milestones (and wish that I had documented earlier ones).

We are currently trying to teach Jack to call me “mommy” or “mama.” He’s known that Tom is “daddy” for several months. He says “Daddy!” when he hears Tom’s key unlocking the front door when he comes from work. It’s really cute. It’s not that he can’t say “mama;” it’s just that he doesn’t seem to understand that I’m “mama.” But he says it every time we leave or approach the house. Tom thinks it might be because he used to take him on walks around the block and then point to the house and say, “Mommy’s in there.” I choose to not believe it’s because I am as big as a house. The other day, a little girl in the park had a toy pig, and Jack called the pig “mama.” That did not make me feel good.

Jack sometimes calls me “dada,” but lately he has been calling me “Annie.” We don’t know why. We think it might be a variation of “Janis.”

That’s all for now. We’ll see how good I am about keeping this updated.
