We have recently started putting Jack in big boy sneakers (courtesy of Auntie Renée - thanks, Auntie Renée!). Sad to say, though, he hates them. I guess they're not as comfortable as the Robeez knock-off moccasins he's used to. He clomps around in the sneakers like Frankenstein and has a hard time walking around in them. Until he gets used to being in big boy shoes, we're only having him wear them when we know he'll be indoors, so that he'll only get a mild concussion when he falls.
Someone once told me, "The best thing about wearing boots is taking them off." This is Jack's philosophy on sneakers. As soon as we put them on, he pulls the velcro fasteners undone. Whenever he's in his carseat, he tries to pull the shoes off and screams until I do it for him. Almost every other walking baby we know is already wearing hard-soled shoes, so I feel like maybe I should have introduced them to him sooner. Oh well.
