I feel like we were in Bizarro World today. My normally happy baby who only cries in the car was super fussy almost the entire day. The only time she was calm was - yep, you guessed it - when we were in the car.
Turns out, though, it wasn't the car that was keeping her calm. It was Jack in the car. She was great to and from the park this morning while he was with us. But in the afternoon I had a rare break from him, so we girls took the opportunity to meet up with some girlfriends for coffee. Poor Violet reverted back to her usual self and screamed the entire ride there. And back. I think I may need to paste a big picture of Jack to the seat in front of her car seat to try to keep her happy.
It is so sweet seeing my two kidlets together. Jack's current nicknames for Violet are "Violet Little Word" (I really don't know where this came from or what it means, but it's been almost from the beginning) and very recently "Bakey" (instead of "Baby"). He is constantly singing songs where he substitutes her name for the lyrics, and he likes to make her laugh with all his silly antics and funny faces. He tells us all the time, "I like her and I love her."
Today, he told Tom and me, "When Violet gets bigger, I will share ALL my toys with her. Even my bear."
However, he also told me today that her crying was "getting on my nerves." I told him it was getting on my nerves too.
But he can be so sweetly sensitive when it comes to her. I had recently posted on Facebook that I really wanted to get a picture of this adorable pout she does right before she starts crying. I finally got the picture and had it up on my computer, because I just thought it was so stinking cute.
Jack saw it and said, "I don't like that sad picture of Violet. I don't like it when she cries, because that means she is sad."
Here's hoping for the return of our sweet little angel tomorrow. I really think she is teething, and I hope it's over with super fast. Bizarro Violet is not as much fun as our regular Violet.

Oh, I hope Bizarro Violet doesn't stay too long. But, how sweet are your descriptions of the loving big brother Jack? I'll answer for you---so very sweet. I am happy to hear it. Do you think she is teething this soon? Come back sweet baby Violet, or Bakey---I like that too. :)
