I know I said in a recent post that I didn't think that Violet would be walking any time soon. She is determined to make me a liar. In the past few days, she has really started to take some steps on her own. She can now take about four or five before she falls. Usually, either Tom or I will stand her up before she walks. However, yesterday, I saw her stand up on her own and walk to a table.
As soon as babies start walking, they look so grown up. *sniff*
She's also starting to really come into her own personality. When Jack does things she doesn't like, she'll yell, "No!" When he tries to push her away or get in her personal space, she's starting to push back.
I'm glad that she has her brother to practice on, because she always seems a little shocked when she gets poked, pushed, or pinched by other babies. She usually just takes it, looks at me, and then starts crying. I have a feeling that living with her boisterous brother is going to help her toughen up a little.
Her favorite word is "Mommy." She says it constantly, all day long. When we are in the car, all I hear from her in her car seat is a constant stream of "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" When I am in the kitchen, she crawls to me, pulls herself up on my leg, and hangs on for dear life, all the while saying, "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"
It's a nice change from "Nanny," which is what Jack called me until he was nearly two years old.
Walking, talking. My sweet baby is growing up so fast.
