Violet is currently (still) obsessed with these "Signing Time" videos that I borrowed from the library. We were watching them this morning, and they were showing the sign for "milk." On the video, the sign is described this way, "It's like you're milking a cow."

Jack asked me, "Mommy, what's 'milking a cow' mean?"

It seemed strange that we had never discussed this before and that he never realized that milk comes from cows. So I explained to him, "The milk that is in our refrigerator, that we buy from a store, comes from cows. We squeeze milk out of them, like this," and I demonstrated with my hands.

It was like a light bulb went off in his head.

"Oh! So it's like when Violet gets mommy's milk from you! It's like you're the cow!" he said excitedly, and then he laughed.
