Well, Jack napped, and we made our appointment. We now know if he is having a little brother or sister. But I am being a brat and not sharing with friends who choose to keep the rest of us in suspense when they're pregnant. *ahem - Jane and Nat, among others - ahem* If anyone else wants to know, though, feel free to e-mail me your guess. I'll tell you if you're right as long as you promise not to spill the beans. :)
It was really cool to see the baby this early. After I'd paid but before we'd gone in, I was thinking, "I'm not sure this is going to be worth the money." But it so was. The sonographer told us she was "a million percent" positive of the gender and that the baby is "perfect," both of which are always good to hear. This baby is VERY active, though. Just like Jack was at around the same time. I thought I ordered a mellow one this time around!
By the way, Jack was singularly unimpressed throughout the entire process. He was more excited by the elevator and the vending machines in the building than seeing a picture of the baby. It didn't help that they dim the lights during the entire process. He kept asking for us to turn the lights back on. I guess I can see why he didn't think it was that big a deal. He already thinks he knows what we're having anyway.
For the record, I am very happy with the news. Of course, there is a small part of me that is wistful for what will never be and nervous for what lies ahead, but I know we are in for a wonderful journey no matter what. I already feel I know the newest member of our family just a little bit better now.

Ah Congratulations my friend! What an exciting adventure that lies ahead for you and your family. I can't wait to meet the next member of Jack-land. :)
I am e-mailing you right now! Keep those others in suspense! HA!
Ah! Emailing you now...
Okay, now I am thinking boy after reading that...hmmm
For the record, we have to wait to find out what our babies are also-it is not like we just choose not to tell other people. :)
Sorry, Jane. Not buying it. You don't "have to" wait. I'll tell you mine when you tell me yours. Or just have the ultrasound tech whisper it in my ear. :D
I just texted you.... I hope you write me back! Maybe I'll call you at 2 a.m.- you need to get used to waking up then anyway.... HA!
Guess I'll have to wait. It will be a fun surprise for me if no one blabs before then! I will get to guess the whole time. :)
Jane- I'll tell for a small fee :)
Ok, just now reading this since we were out of town! I'm e-mailing you now, I want to know!!
