Happy 2010!

It's hard to believe that it's already 2010. When I was growing up, the year 2000 seemed like a lifetime away, and now this new century is already 10 years old. It really is true that time is logarithmic; it just speeds up as it goes.

Some highlights of the past year for me include:
  • Jack's first visit to Disneyland - and the arrival of Winnie the Pooh into our lives
  • Our trip to Spain
  • Jack going to preschool
  • Jack's birthday party
  • Tom's birthday party
  • Potty training
  • All the fun we had with our family and friends
  • And, of course, finding out that we are expecting a baby girl
Regarding the last one, I feel there is so much that we have to do to get ready to welcome the newest member of our family. So most of my resolutions are nesting-related and tend to be focused on the next three months:
  • Institute and maintain a realistic housekeeping schedule. This is an absolute must and my number one resolution. I didn't keep last year's resolution to get organized, and I feel like I'm losing control of this house. We need to do something.
  • Set up baby's room - obviously.
  • Finish Jack's baby book before the baby arrives. Ideally, I'd get all our photos into digital books by the end of the year, but I definitely want to have Jack's first 12 months in a book by April.
  • Enjoy the next three months. Rather than wishing away my last trimester, I want to really cherish these final few months with just Jack. It will be the last time he will be my only baby, and it will also be the last time that I'll ever be pregnant. So I want to make sure that I focus on making lasting precious memories instead of simply being impatient for the time to pass.
Happy New Year, everyone! May 2010 bring joy to you all and peace to the world.
