I felt the baby move for the first time a couple of days ago, those beautiful little flutterings unbeautfully called "quickening" (sounds like something you add to bread dough, like shortening).
It's funny how much I don't remember from being pregnant with Jack. I don't know if this is earlier or later than I felt him move. I don't know if I'm bigger, smaller, or the same - although I feel huge already. I really can't believe those baby web sites that tell me that she weighs only 8 1/2 ounces. She weighs half a pound?? Why have I already gained ten then??
One thing that is the same between both pregnancies, I haven't taken any belly pictures. I'll have to make sure I get on that.
Jack and I were talking about jealousy a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how we got on the subject, but I asked him if he remembers ever feeling jealous.
"I was jealous when Daddy pushed that girl in the roller coaster," he said.
"Do you mean when Daddy pushed Charlotte on the tricycle?"
"Yeah."
"Do you think you'll ever be jealous of Baby?" I asked him.
"I might be jealous of Baby if she rides in my stroller," he said.
"How will Baby get around then, if she can't ride in the stroller?" I asked.
"I will teach Baby how to walk," said the little big brother.
Okay! I think I might research some double strollers just in case, though.
