Jack was in a fantastic mood all day. I think one reason is that he discovered a new entry in the Elmo's World oeuvre: "Wild Wild West." He had actually seen it for the first time several months ago, and he couldn't have cared less about it then. But with his new found love of all that is country, this was suddenly the best thing ever. We watched this video at least seven times today. I am not kidding. His favorite part was the montage set to the "William Tell Overture" as performed on the kazoo (again, not kidding); he kept making me rewind to that part again and again and AGAIN. I'm going to hear it in my sleep tonight.(I suppose it could be worse. At least it's not the part with Travis Tritt. I don't know what I found more cringe-inducing, this guy's orange fake bake pancake make-up or his terrible acting. But I digress...)
Normally, when Jack (finally) goes down for his nap, he has me sing him a lullaby. Today, he requested that I sing the "Wild Wild West" song, which literally comprises repeating the lyrics "Wild Wild West" over and over to the tune of "Jingle Bells." I did this probably 20 times in a row before he finally drifted off.
Yee-haw!

Jack-Jack is such a character! OK, another Elmo DVD I will be looking into. We chant the William Tell Overture every time we ride the big toys at the park---so this may be a hit at our house too. I love the part about his new naptime lullaby.
And I am off to go look up the word "oeuvre" right now! :)
