"Is that her pee pee?" he asked me.
He noticed right away when she lost it.
"Mommy! Baby lost her stump!" he told me.
"She sure did!" I said.
"Why did she lose her stump?" he asked.
"It was ready to come off."
"Oh. Why?" (We hear "Oh. Why?" about a thousand times a day.)
I opted for the highly technical explanation.
"Because it just was," I said.
"Daddy!" he yelled. "Baby doesn't have her stump anymore!"
Later that evening, Violet had her first bath. The little baby tub that we have for her is too big to fit in the big tub with Jack, but we put it on the bathroom floor beside him while he was taking his bath. He helped us by pouring warm water on her. Violet didn't love her first bath experience, but Jack sure did.
This morning when he saw us, the first thing he told me was, "Mommy! Baby doesn't have her stump anymore!"
Just in case I'd forgotten.

Her fingers are long! Love this, just think how Jack will be with each of her milestones. I can see him being her biggest cheerleader. :)
