We just got back from a whirlwind - and exhausting - trip to the East Coast. We made our home base at Jack's Auntie Ellen's house in Connecticut with a quick dash to NYC for the weekend. Jack's first visit to the Big City. I'll write more about our trip later, but I wanted to share that at long last, Jack is calling me "Mommy." He started a couple of days ago, and now he's saying it more regularly and reliably.
It's enough to make my heart melt.
I'm still sometimes "Nanny," but I think I won't be for much longer. Of course, there is a perverse part of me that will miss it, but only as a sweet vestige of Jack's babyhood.

How sweet that he calls you Mommy now. I know, it's kind of bittersweet when they lose their baby words.
