Jack is 2!

I am taking a screen shot of today's Jack-o-meter.

I can't believe that my baby is two years old today. So much has happened, it's hard to believe that it's only been two years. And yet it's gone by so fast. I can remember the day he was born as if it happened last week. (That's probably the reason why Baby #2 still is a distant "maybe.") One of my favorite quotes about motherhood is, "Days are long, but years fly by." Ain't it the truth?

Most days, I feel I am constantly watching the clock until 5:45 when Tom comes home, so that I can just have a break. That last hour especially drags on. There have been times when I hear Tom pull up to the driveway, get out of the car, check the mailbox, and I open the door and yell, "Get in here right now!"

But then I think of all that Jack has accomplished over these last two years, and it's hard to believe that so much could have been done in such a short amount of time. He learned to roll over, crawl, walk, and talk. He more than tripled his birth weight. He learned to nurse, to eat solids, and then to stop nursing (*sniff!*). He learned to sleep through the night. He knows most of his letters and lots of his colors and can count past 10. He's grown from a baby into his own little person, and it's just amazing to see.

When we lived in Baltimore, Tom used to sail on a boat called "Two-riffic Too." The owner said he had named his first boat "Two-riffic" after his twin girls. When he got a new boat, he called it "Two-riffic Too," because "it's terrific also."

Jack at one was wonderful, but I have a feeling that Jack at two will be terrific also.

Happy Birthday, sweetpea! Mommy and Daddy love you.

Happy, Happy Birthday Jack-Jack! I agree with Jenn, incredible how these guys grow, change, and develop at this age---from babies to little, actual individuals.

I can't tell you how much I wish I was there to witness all the changes Jack has been through and all the ones to come. I am so sad we missed his party, but it sounded like great fun and I loved the pumpkin patch back-yard!

Congratulations Mama for making it through another year! It's about to get more fun (a bit more challenging, but still more fun), just you wait and see. We miss you---and darnit I wish my husband got home at 5:45pm!

Big ((HUGS)) to you and the Birthday Boy!
